1. Who we are

Military Benefits Tracker ("we," "us," or "the app") is a mobile app that helps U.S. service members, veterans, and their families discover military discounts, track credit-card benefits, and use pay, BAH, TSP, and VA planning tools.

This privacy policy covers the Military Benefits Tracker iOS app and this website (mbtracker.app).

Military Benefits Tracker is an informational tool. It is not financial, legal, or medical advice, and it is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, or any government agency.

2. Data we collect Matches App Store label

As shown in our App Store privacy label, the only category of data we collect from the app is Purchase History.

What that includes

• Whether you have an active subscription or trial
• Which plan you purchased (for example, monthly or annual)
• Subscription renewal status
• Restore-purchase and billing-related events needed to unlock Pro features

What that does not include

• Your name, email address, or mailing address
• Your military service record, pay details, or VA information
• Your ZIP code, GPS coordinates, or calendar entries
• Credit card numbers (Apple handles all payment details)

Linked to your identity?

No. Apple reports this to us as Data Not Linked to You. Purchase information is tied to an anonymous subscription identifier managed by Apple and RevenueCat — not to your real-world identity in our systems.

3. Data that stays on your device

Military Benefits Tracker is built local-first. Most information you enter is saved only on your iPhone using on-device storage (AsyncStorage). We do not upload this data to our own servers.

Examples of on-device data include:

• Onboarding profile: first name, branch, pay grade, years served, goals, ZIP code, dependents
• Pay, BAH, TSP, and VA calculator inputs and results
• Tracked credit cards, benefit usage, and fee-waiver confirmations
• New Soldier Checklist progress
• Map favorites and appearance settings (light / dark / system)

Because this data stays on your phone, uninstalling the app or using Reset all data in Profile removes it from your device. Resetting app data does not cancel an active Apple subscription — manage billing in your Apple ID settings.

4. Optional permissions you control

Some features ask for device permissions. You can deny them and still use most of the app.

Location (while using the app)

• Used for: Showing nearby military discounts on the map and sorting locations by distance.
• When: Only while the Map feature is open and only if you tap Allow.
• Where it goes: Processed on your device. We do not store your GPS coordinates on our servers.

Calendar (if you choose to sync)

• Used for: Creating benefit-reset reminders (for example, annual card credits or fee anniversaries).
• When: Only if you open Calendar Sync and confirm.
• Where it goes: Written directly to your device calendar. We do not read or upload your other calendar events.

5. Why we use data

We use purchase history for exactly two purposes, as declared in the App Store:

• App functionality — to unlock Pro features, restore purchases on a new device, and keep your subscription status accurate.
• Analytics — to understand subscription performance (for example, trial starts, renewals, and restore success) so we can improve the product.

We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

6. Who we share data with

We share purchase-related data only with service providers that help the app work:

• Apple — processes App Store payments and subscription billing through your Apple ID. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription status and purchase verification. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users.

7. How long we keep data

• On-device data: Kept until you delete it, reset the app, or uninstall. You control this.
• Purchase history: Retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their policies and billing requirements. We retain only what is needed to verify active subscriptions.

8. Your choices & rights

You are in control. Here is what you can do today:

• Delete on-device data: Profile → Reset all data (keeps active subscriptions intact; cancel billing separately in Apple ID settings).
• Turn off location: iOS Settings → Military Benefits Tracker → Location → Never or While Using (your choice).
• Remove calendar reminders: Delete synced events from Calendar, or remove cards in the app (which triggers cleanup of linked reminders).
• Manage subscriptions: iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Profile → Manage subscription in the app.
• Ask us questions: Email support@mbtracker.app and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights (such as access, correction, or deletion). Because we do not link purchase data to your identity, we may need you to verify your request through your Apple ID or device receipt.

9. Children

Military Benefits Tracker is designed for adults in the military community and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. International users

The app is built for the U.S. military community. If you use it outside the United States, your purchase data may be processed in the U.S. by Apple and RevenueCat. Local privacy laws may give you additional rights — contact us to exercise them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this page when the app changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes may also be noted in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
