USO centers
The USO is a nonprofit that operates centers at many U.S. and overseas airports and installations, offering rest areas, snacks, Wi-Fi, and family spaces. Centers generally serve active duty, Guard and Reserve members, and their families — eligibility is set by the USO. Locations and hours are listed at USO.org.
Airport lounge access
There is no universal free-lounge rule for military travelers, but several real paths exist:
- USO centers — free for eligible members at many airports (see above).
- Lounge network programs — some lounges and networks run military programs or discounts; rules vary by location.

Military lodging
- DoD installation lodging — on-base hotels available to eligible guests, often at lower nightly rates than nearby commercial hotels.
- Armed Forces Recreation Centers (AFRCs) — resort-style destinations run by the DoD for the military community.
- MWR programs — recreation, travel discounts, and equipment rental through each branch's Morale, Welfare and Recreation organization.
